Mayu is a therapist and the founder of Padayon Therapy Space. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and works under clinical supervision. Mayu provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed care to individuals and couples navigating anxiety, burnout, identity exploration, life transitions, and relational challenges. Her work is especially meaningful for children of immigrants, immigrants, BIPOC individuals, high achievers, perfectionists, people-pleasers, and cycle-breakers who are learning to reconnect with themselves and live more authentically.

Mayu practices from a collaborative and compassionate lens, integrating evidence-based approaches while honouring each person’s cultural background, lived experiences, and personal strengths. She believes therapy is a space where clients can feel safe to slow down, be seen, and no longer carry everything on their own.

Growing up in the Philippines, Mayu was shaped by strong collectivist values centred on family, sacrifice, and resilience. From an early age, she felt the pressure to succeed, not only for herself, but for her family, learning responsibility and perseverance while often setting aside her own needs.

At 18, she moved to Canada and navigated the challenges of starting over, including uncertainty, isolation, and building a life between cultures. These experiences shaped her understanding of identity, belonging, and self-compassion.

Mayu believes healing begins when you no longer have to do it alone. She strives to create a space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to keep going~padayon.

In her free time, Mayu enjoys exploring new places, singing karaoke, spending time with her dog and cats, and engaging in creative activities like crafting, building miniatures, sketching, and painting.
